Global business innovator Nicola Burgess has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Data Action.

Data Action is a specialist software and services provider to the financial services industry with clients including 86 400, People’s Choice Credit Union, Bank Australia and P&N Bank.

Ms Burgess joins Data Action after six years at Australia Post, where her roles included leading its innovation agenda and delivery of new business services for medium and large corporate organisations and Government enterprises.

Her 20-year career also includes four years working with British Telecom’s retail business in the UK where she led commercial business unit and strategic programs for its customer service operations employing 3,000 people in the UK and India.

Ms Burgess has also worked with Deloitte’s UK Strategy and Operations Consulting team.

Data Action Chair Jane Jeffreys said Ms Burgess has the global experience, specialist expertise and drive to steer Data Action through the next stage of its development and growth.

“Data Action is poised to build on its extraordinary track record of success with continued market expansion,” Ms Jeffreys said.

“Through our clients, we now enhance the banking experience of more than a million banking customers representing over $33 billion in client assets.

“We currently employ 170 staff in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney and are looking to expand our national business to more fully service our clients across Australia.”

Ms Burgess said she was looking forward to leading Data Action through this next important chapter.
