Data Action joins leading banks and technology providers as a member of BIAN
In what promises to be a beneficial move toward gaining deeper knowledge of global banking trends, Data Action has joined the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN).
BIAN is a collaborative not-for-profit network of industry professionals, committed to innovation and lowering banking costs. Established in 2008, the international network includes technology providers, consultants, academics and leading banks from around the world, who collaborate their industry expertise to create a global banking IT standard. Through the BIAN model, core business capabilities are identified within global banks through well-defined service orientated architecture.
The move is in line with our current growth agenda and provides us an excellent platform to collaborate with similar organisations on a global scale. We look forward to working with financial institutions who share the same commitment to innovation and banking transformation. Alexei Fey, General Manager – Technology, stated “We see BIAN membership as a great opportunity to further align our technical and business driven offerings to industry standards and to help shape, and gain insights into global banking trends.”
The membership will also afford us the opportunity for involvement in working groups from core banking to API/integration. Alexei added, “Strategically, this will enable us to keep abreast with both the industrialising nature of banking and disruption trends that are becoming commonplace in the consumer driven digital age we work in.”
The membership will further strengthen our understanding of the banking landscape and we intend to leverage this knowledge and utilise the BIAN model for future development so we can pass the benefits onto our clients.
