Data Action announces new Chair, Jane Jeffreys

Data Action (DA) announced the appointment of Ms Jane Jeffreys to its Board with the intention that Jane will succeed Wayne Matters as Chair at the August Board Meeting. Jane’s appointment comes at an opportune time given DA’s national growth agenda, and her wealth of leadership experience and broad industry knowledge will be a welcome addition in helping ensure the company’s future success.

A recognised and respected corporate identity, Jane’s career highlights have included Executive positions with Hilton International, the Adelaide Casino and the South Australian Tourism Commission. She is also an experienced Company Director with her previous Board appointments including Chair of the award-winning Adelaide Convention Centre, Director of Tourism Australia, Chair of the South Australian Tourism Commission and Chair of ECH Inc. Her current Board appointments include Director of Funds SA, Chair of West Beach Trust and other private and not-for-profit entities.  Jane said, “The opportunity to join the Board of DA comes at an exciting time, when the mutual industry opportunities and DA capabilities are uniquely aligned. The role offers me the possibility to make a significant difference, not only to the company but also the industry”.

Jane previously achieved the significant milestone of being the first woman appointed to an AFL Board in SA, and similarly, DA is delighted to be appointing its first female Chair. Jane’s progressive and strategic thinking will contribute towards developing enhanced strategies whilst building upon the firm foundations wrought under outgoing Chairman, Wayne Matters. Wayne said, “The Board of DA are delighted to make this appointment after conducting a thorough search which yielded an excellent field”.
